Angela Rance suspects demonic possession and enlists the help of two priests: the progressive, but naive, Father Tomas Ortega and the broken holy warrior, Father Marcus Keane. Together, they will be drawn into a nightmare beyond imagining. Chapter Two: Lupus In Fabula While Bishop Egan denies Tomas permission to perform the exorcism on Angela's daughter, Father Marcus breaks out of Saint Aquinas and joins forces with Tomas, though he urges him to get his ex, Jessica, out of his life and heart. The Rance family's relationship with the demon deepens and when Marcus catches Angela stealing holy water, he instructs her on how to use it. On Chicago's South Side, a series of bizarre ritual killings begin taking place. Chapter Three: Let 'Em In Kat struggles to confront the realization that her friend, Julia, is dead. Shopping for a dress to wear to Julia's memorial service, Casey is given a sexy, expensive and slightly inappropriate dress by a salesman at the store. Seeking permission to conduct an exorcism, Marcus and Tomas take footage from the Rance home to papal emissaries, only to be met with shocking news that will change Marcus' life forever. Chapter Four: The Moveable Feast Angela becomes restless as her daughter's condition worsens while the demon targets innocent people. Also: Father Tomas gets a visitor from his past; Marcus receives guidance from an unlikely source; and an unsanctioned exorcism is debated. Chapter Five: Through My Most Grievous Fault The exorcism begins, but the Demon counter attacks with secrets of its own. Elsewhere: the demon's manipulations cause conflict within the Rance family. Chapter Six: Star Of The Morning Casey's story goes public, causing a media frenzy for the Rance family and throwing Father Tomas into the spotlight. Elsewhere: Father Bennett attends a papal planning event and Marcus scours the city's underbelly for answers. Chapter Seven: Father Of Lies Family bonds start to break as the daughter remains missing. Also: Marcus requests Mother Bernadette's help with a new problem; news of Casey's possession goes public and Father Bennett is put in danger while investigating the Tattersal corporation. Chapter Eight: The Griefbearers More conflict surfaces as Marcus, Tomas and Mother Bernadette race to defeat the demon. Also: the church's enemies get aggressive as the Pope's visit approaches; Angela encounters a familiar face from her past; and Kat ponders a new future. Chapter Nine: 162 A potential tragedy surfaces right before Pope Sebastien arrives and Marcus has to intervene. Also: Tomas gets a life-changing opportunity, but his past mistakes may stop it from materializing, and a new problem threatens the Rance family. Chapter Ten: Three Rooms The demon tries to destroy Angela Rance and her family and Marcus and Tomas try to save them while the church's enemies organize against Pope Sebastian.
