  • Steinpas Family
Green and Joyner - both of whom are adopted themselves - head to Brookfield, WI to meet Scott and Sandy Steinpas, loving parents who are searching for the daughter they gave up when they were just teenagers. Sandy was just 15 years old when she met Scott and they started dating. In June of 1979 Sandy found out she was pregnant, and instantly she and Scott knew their lives were about to change. They had not been together long, were still living with their parents, and had no idea what the responsibility of raising a family, being married, or even paying a bill entailed. Because they could barely support themselves, let alone a baby, they decided to give their baby up for adoption - a huge decision that shaped their lives from that point forward. Scott and Sandy stayed together against all odds and have been married for 27 years. They have raised three beautiful children, but something, or someone, has always been missing. Scott and Sandy have spent thousands of dollars and almost a decade searching for the daughter they gave up 29 years ago, but to no avail. Now, it's up to the "Find My Family" team to reunite this family who have, unknowingly, been living just miles apart.

  • Arend & DeHaven
Hosts Tim Green and Lisa Joyner travel to Upper Arlington, OH to meet 24-year-old Ashley Arend, an after-school program aide working on her Masters to become a teacher. Ashley always knew she was adopted and could not have asked for a more loving and supportive family. When she was 10, she stumbled upon her adoption papers and discovered she had a biological brother -- just 16 months older than her. Ashley grew up knowing what it was like to have a loving mother and father, but unlike most of her friends, she did not know what it was like to have siblings. For the past six years, she has looked everywhere for him and, although she seems to have exhausted all of her options, she has never gaven up hope that one day she'll find him. Now, not only will the "Find My Family" team find the extra limb to Ashley's family tree, they'll give her the surprise of a lifetime. Then "Find My Family" heads to Glendale, AZ to meet Jamie De Haven, an African-American, mother of three who was adopted as a baby by an all white family in Indiana. In Jamie's family, race was never an issue - there was nothing but love. In her heart and soul, Jamie always felt something was missing and dreamed of finding her birth mother. Working a full time job to try to make ends meet, she knew that her birth mother struggled financially and was forced to give her up for adoption. Although she knew her mother's name and even the address of the house where her mother lived at one time, Jamie's endless efforts over the years have come up empty. Now it's up to Tim, Lisa and the "Find My Family" investigative team to answer Jamie's prayers and find the mother she never knew.

  • Spencer & Curtis
The first story begins in San Antonio, TX, with Kari Spencer, her husband, Dean, and their two little boys. For years Kari's adopted parents tried to conceive before finally deciding to adopt; they adopted her when she was just 11 days old. Unbeknownst to them, they were actually pregnant with Kari's sister, who was born just eight months later. Kari never doubted she was loved, but constantly struggled with acceptance issues. After 38 years of feeling like an outsider, she decided to seek out her birth parents to get answers to a multitude of questions that had plagued her for years. Her individual search uncovered devastating records, revealing that her birth mother had apparently abandoned her. With little else to go on, will the "Find My Family" investigative team be able to track down her birth parents so that Kari can find the closure she needs to start a new chapter in her life? Next the "Find My Family" team travels to Asotin, WA to meet 36-year-old Jennifer Curtis, her fiance, Brett, and her two children. Having always known she was adopted, Jennifer has been searching for her biological family since she was 14. All she knows is that her birth mother was 16 when Jennifer was born, and that her birth mother's neighbor adopted Jennifer right away. The neighbor had four children, all boys, and desperately wanted to add a girl to the mix. Jennifer also knows that she has an older brother who was given up for adoption as well. Throughout her years of searching, Jennifer even hired a private investigator, but even with the added help it has been one dead end after another. Now it's up to Tim, Lisa and our search team to help Jennifer find her family and what they discover will change Jennifer's life forever.

  • Evans & Finn
Tim Green travels to San Antonio, TX to meet Wavie Evans, 52, who is looking for the son he lost 30 years ago. Now a father of seven, Wavie yearns to complete his family by reconnecting with his son, Tyrone, whom his then-girlfriend gave up for adoption three decades ago. His current wife and his family have tried to help, but to no avail. As Tyrone's adoption was private, the "Find My Family" team has only one piece of information a birthdate. They begin the incredibly challenging task of contacting thousands of men born on that date in California. Will "Find My Family" be able to track down Tyrone? Then "Find My Family" heads to Santa Clarita, CA to meet with Maria Finn, a 43-year-old woman who wishes to reconnect with her birth mother. Maria was raised in a loving environment and couldn't be happier with her adoptive family. She wants to make sure her birth mother knows that her life has been a blessed one and, more importantly, that she made the right decision giving up Maria for adoption. Maria's adoptive mother, Rose Belle, also wants to thank Maria's birth mother for the incredible gift she was given. Maria has attempted her own search for years, but has no strong leads. She only has one tangible piece of information a St. Jude medal her birth mother left with her that she has worn daily for years. The "Find My Family" team has little to go on except the medal, Maria's birth name, Jude Genovese, and some generic family information left behind in her adoption file.

  • Nadeau & Bashaw
The "Find My Family" team travels to San Diego, CA to meet Tina Nadeau, a single mom raising two beautiful daughters. Tina absolutely loves her kids and has a wonderful life, but the hole left in her heart after giving up her son as a teenager has only deepened over the past 28 years. Tina got pregnant when she was just 16 and a junior in high school in South Dakota. Her parents decided she should give the baby up for adoption and sent Tina to live with her aunt and uncle in California. Fifteen years later, when Tina lived in South Dakota with her two daughters, she'd still spend every day thinking about the son she'd given up. Eventually she decided to pick up her girls and move back to the San Diego area to search for her son. She used the internet and adoption websites, any outlets that might produce a lead, but frustrated and discouraged, she always ran into dead ends. It's time for Tim, Lisa and the investigative team to find Tina's son and to offer Tina a chance at the forgiveness she seeks. Then "Find My Family" heads to Crestview, FL to meet Denise Bashaw, a 27-year-old mother trying to keep up with two adorable children while her husband serves overseas in the Air Force. Denise always knew she was adopted and could not have asked for better parents. But 10 years ago her world was turned upside down when her adoptive mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, passing away less than a year later. At 16 Denise made a promise to herself that somehow, some way, she would find her birth mother and thank her for giving her the ultimate gift a better life. In 2001 records in Oregon were unsealed and Denise was able to obtain her pre-adoption birth record. This record included her birth mother's name and other pertinent information from the time of her adoption. Despite having such great information to start her search, Denise has come up empty. Now "Find My Family" will take the search reins and try to find the family and answers this grieving daughter has sought her entire life.
