Every Rose Has Its Thorn McCoy continues to steal the spotlight from Matt, who must also cope with his mother. Elsewhere, Tyra sees a new side of Cash and Jason is disappointed by Erin. It Ain't Easy Being J.D. McCoy Riggins and the team receive Eric's ire for hazing freshmen; J.D. earns respect from his teammates; Julie and Matt take a late-night swim; and a woman from Cash's past makes a surprising claim. Keeping Up Appearances Eric and Tami try to calm Jamarca's angry parents; Matt plans a surprise for Julie; Billy helps Tim pursue a scholarship; and Jason, Herc and the Riggins brothers receive good news. New York, New York Jason's plan to leave Dillon worries Tim; Tami and Eric butt heads over financial matters; Julie champions Matt's idea to her dad; and Tyra turns to Cash during a difficult time. Game Of The Week All eyes are on Dillon as the Panthers' playoff game is chosen as the "high school game of the week," leading to heightened anticipation for the nationally televised game. Riggins struggles to decide whether or not to meet with a college coach and Saracen's grandma worries about the idea of Matt leaving for college. Meanwhile Tyra, while out on the road with Cash, discovers his dark side and soon finds herself in a desperate situation. The Giving Tree Buddy Garrity has a run-in with the law and comes clean to Lyla about their financial troubles. Coach Taylor walks in on Julie and Matt in bed together. Landry agrees to tutor Tyra for the SAT's, but he reaches a breaking point. J.D. meets a new love interest and his dad worries about him losing focus on football. A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall Saracen continues to struggle caring for his grandmother as her mental health rapidly deteriorates. Lyla is still dealing with the reality that her father gambled away her college fund when she learns she has been accepted to Vanderbilt, the college of her dreams. Tyra and Landry become closer as they plan Mindy's bridal shower together and despite a well-played game Friday night, tensions between J.D. and his father reaches a boiling point. Underdogs The team prepares for tough opponents; the Taylors make a decision about the McCoys; Tyra writes her college essay with help from Landry; Matt frets over telling his grandma about his plan for college; and Lyla moves out of Tim's house. Tomorrow Blues Eric's contract is reviewed. Meanwhile, Billy and Mindy's wedding day arrives; Tyra awaits word on her wait-list status; Matt prepares to leave for college; and Tim and Lyla consider their future.
