High School Musical: Get In The Picture EpisodesSeason 1

High School Musical: Get In The Picture Page

  • East Coast Auditions
On-the-spot auditions across the eastern half of the United States, as well as a massive open call audition at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, with the top performers going to the semifinals

  • Eastern Semifinals And Finals
The East Coast auditions progress to the semifinal and final rounds. Those who make the finals get to be part of the summer music program in which participants will fine-tune their singing and dancing skills.

  • West Coast Auditions
Surprise regional auditions across the western half of the United States, as well as a massive open casting call in Long Beach, California.

  • Western Semifinals And Finals
The semifinalists from the Western half of the United States, strangers until now, must dance, sing and work together to earn a spot as one of the series' 12 finalists. However by the show's end, only six from this group will be moving on as finalists.

  • Want To Be In High School Musical 3?
The 12 finalists from the East and West Coast auditions, now hard at work in the series' summer music program at Murray High School in Utah, get the surprise of their lives with a visit to the film set of "High School Musical 3: Senior Year," where they audition for director Kenny Ortega and meet "HSM" cast members Lucas Grabeel, Olesya Rulin and Kaycee Stroh.

  • Let Go
Unsuspecting customers at a department store are in for a big surprise when the 12 finalists break into song and dance and perform an impromptu concert for them. Meanwhile, the finalists break off into trios and prepare for their first big performance. Later they face the first elimination, where two of them will be relegated to the chorus.

  • Connect
The kids learn to communicate without words in a silent scavenge for emotion, and break off into couples to perform duets.

  • Roll With The Punches
The contestants tackle the challenge of performing "High School Musical" in four different languages as they rehearse for their first group performance.

  • Making First Impressions
The six finalists interview for jobs that require a range of performances as they attempt to learn TV theme songs from a bygone age -- the 70s and 80s - and an unexpected ending changes someone's fortune.

  • Other People's Shoes
In an acting exercise, the kids explore characters and musical styles that are the antitheses of their own personalities. Stan, a self-described jock, goes Goth, good girls get to rock out, and the group reinvents a mix of 80s classic tunes.

  • The Finale
Four finalist are narrowed down to one grand prize winner. That talented newcomer will become a part of "High School Musical" history and will literally "get in the picture" when he/she stars in a music video shown in the end credits of the feature film, Disney's "High School Musical 3: Senior Year," opening this fall. In addition, the winner will also receive an exclusive talent hold agreement with ABC and a recording contract for two digital singles with Walt Disney Records, one of which will be a version of the song from the music video.

  • Find The Emotion In You
The final four get a surprise visit from those they love the most as the faculty decides who will move on to the grand finale in Los Angeles.
