Keyshawn Johnson: Tackling Design EpisodesSeason 1

Back To Pazsaz Entertainment Network's Keyshawn Johnson: Tackling Design Page

  • Dawn And Kurtis' Garage Gridiron
Keyshawn is caught in the middle of homeowners Dawn and Kurtis. With three daughters and a wife, Kurtis wants to makeover their converted garage into a manly oasis he can call his own. But Dawn wants to use part of the room for her craft projects. Keyshawn needs to come up with a design that will please both of them. Dawn digs in her heels when Keyshawn and his team propose a wall color that she feels is too dark and manly. Kurtis likes the dark color, but is reluctant to stand up to Dawn. Keyshawn finds himself acting as both coach and referee as he tries to convince Kurtis to "man-up" and Dawn to trust his design decisions. He was an all-pro wide receiver for the New York Jets, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But now Keyshawn Johnson is going to play on a different field altogether. Watch as the former N.F.L. star tries to make a new name for himself in the world of interior design.

  • Nancy's Bedroom Blitz
This time Keyshawn is working with a true blank slate - Nancy's home has been under construction for the past two years and her enormous master bedroom suite is nothing but drywall and plywood. She fired an unscrupulous contractor who did shoddy work and now has some serious trust issues that keep getting in the way. Keyshawn comes up with an "Old Hollywood" style for the room, but he and Nancy disagree on just about every element of the design. Some clients require a lot more give and take than Keyshawn had ever anticipated and he has to set his pride aside and grudgingly compromise to get the job done.

  • Ron And Lee's Kitchen Kickoff
Keyshawn asks his design team to keep things running at the office and invites close friend, designer Cami Forte, to join him on a huge job remodeling a kitchen and living room for homeowners Ron and Lee. Ron and Lee, both attorneys, want an eclectic space they can use to entertain clients. But the size and scope of the project puts Keyshawn's skills to the test. He's taken to task by Ron when the budget comes in higher than expected and later Keyshawn is forced to referee a fight between Cami and Lee.

  • Nadine And Jeff's Homeowner Holding
Keyshawn's patience is tested when he tries to help Jeff and Nadine transform their boring master bedroom. They don't have a clear vision of what they want and can't seem to agree on anything. Keyshawn quickly finds that getting this couple to make a decision isn't easy, and emotions hit the boiling point. Despite delays, the design team presses on as best they can and Keyshawn is eventually able to create a warm, inviting space that Jeff and Nadine love.

  • Jessica And Chris's Neutral Zone
Keyshawn thinks he'll have an easy run when Jessica and Chris ask him to turn their guest room into a family room they can enjoy with their new baby. Practically the only colors in the room are the stains on the old furniture and worn-out carpet. But Jessica and Chris block grand plans to get rid of their bare white walls because they favor a much more conservative, minimalist look, which, for Keyshawn, means "boring." Finally, he comes up with a plan for a Mid Century Modern style that just might save the game.

  • Megan's Painting Penalty
Keyshawn has been asked to design a new bedroom for homeowner Megan's two young boys to share. Her youngest son, Kevin, has autism, which presents some unique design challenges when it comes to colors, patterns and textures. After learning that both boys like sports, especially golf, Keyshawn comes up with some big ideas to create a fun golf-themed room. But he and the design team hit a major snag when the golf course mural they commissioned turns out to be sub-par.

  • Jill And Rob's Baby Bowl Game
eyshawn finds himself in unfamiliar territory when he's hired to design a nursery for expectant parents Jill and Rob. Since cribs and rockers aren't in his playbook, he counts on his design team to help carry the ball on this one. Mistakes are made when the design team and the contractor get their signals crossed. Now Keyshawn has to step in to straighten out the mess and get the job done.

  • Mom And Daughter's Double Team
eyshawn gets to really run with the ball when he meets up with Edie and her daughter Genevieve who share a home. They want to update the look of their breakfast nook area, but don't know what style they want. Mom and daughter are excited when Keyshawn suggests a Southern style that includes warm new flooring, a custom bench and an antique door for the pantry. But Keyshawn is forced to take a time out when locating an antique door that fits is much harder than he bargained for.

  • Anissa And Tim's Two Point Conversion
Keyshawn is only supposed to re-design the outdated living room for homeowners Tim and Anissa, but when he sees the bright red walls on the adjoining dining room, he decides he has to tackle that, too. Keyshawn finds the homeowners are a little resistant to change, but he eventually gets them on his team. The game plan goes well until Anissa and Tim call Keyshawn for interference when he insists on completely getting rid of the glaring red walls.

  • Deb And Pete's Multipurpose Room Rush
eyshawn is hired by Deb and Pete, but quickly learns he's really answering to their 7-year-old son, Mason. The plan is to create a family room/playroom that doubles as a guest room, but Mason calls a new play and decides he wants this to be his bedroom as well. Mason may be a rookie, but he has some very strong opinions. Keyshawn has to be both coach and referee in order to accommodate everyone, including the family's pet tortoise.

  • Robyn's Kitchen Reverse
Keyshawn learns it's no day at the beach when he agrees to redesign the kitchen in Robyn's ocean front condo. The plan calls for a total makeover that includes new flooring, appliances and accessories. Keyshawn finds himself on defense as a number of problems arise. When the design of the cabinetry isn't what she was expecting, and the table measurements are all wrong, Robyn is ready to call a time-out to the whole project.
