They are then challenged to create an outfit using only the clothes off their backs. Also: they attend a party and choose their own models. The remaining contestants meet a fashion luminary and are asked to design for a global star. Tempers flare in the workroom when the aspiring designers are challenged to create a sexy, alluring item. The remaining designers only have a day and a half to create a party dress for a socialite. They also attend a trunk-show soiree, where their social skills are tested. The remaining designer wannabes are challenged to create a day-to-evening ensemble for the retail market. The remaining designer wannabes get sporty by creating a garment for figure skater Sasha Cohen. The remaining designers try to draw inspiration from their surroundings. The remaining contestants have designs on creating something exotic using flowers and plants. The designers focus on makeovers. And then there were four. The remaining quartet of designer hopefuls face off in the last elimination, with only three then advancing to the Fall Fashion Week finale. All 16 contestants reunite to size up their personal highs and woes during the various challenges, as well as to reflect on how the show has impacted their lives. Also included: previously unaired footage. The remaining three designers return to their respective homes to create their line, which will ultimately be showcased in a face-off at fashion week. Included: a look at the contestants' personal lives, as Tim Gunn visits them at their homes. The three remaining contestants compete in a fierce face-off at New York Fashion Week, where their lines are presented before judges and industry luminaries. The winner ultimately scores $100,000, among other prizes.
