The Vice Guide To Everything EpisodesSeason 1

Back To Pazsaz Entertainment Network's The Vice Guide To Everything Page

  • Yemen; Strip Club; Neo-Melodics; Fantasy Coffins
Yemen has been called the next Afghanistan - the next breeding ground for terrorism in the Muslim world. Host Shane Smith and Spike Jonze hop on a plane and see for themselves: meeting the leaders of anti-American terrorist groups, chewing the natural narcotic qat, and hanging out with the only skateboarders in Yemen. Then Ryan Duffy meets our favorite hustler - Jay Thunderbolt - who runs a strip club out of his dead parents' shag-carpeted rec room in Detroit. We go to Naples hang with the mob minstrels - cheesy pop music stars who perform for the mafia families that run the city. These stars live rich and fanciful lives but are only famous within a 20-mile radius. Finally, Thomas Morton, aka Baby Balls, tries to figure out which kind of African fantasy coffin we want to get buried in - a beer bottle, a boot or an airplane?

  • North Korea; Russian Mobsters; Border Crossings; Doll Brothel
They pose as tourists and sneak into the "Hermit Kingdom" of North Korea, run by a crazy dictator with a perm. Witness the craziest show on Earth -- the Arirang Games -- and manage to spend several days in the country without meeting any of the actual people of North Korea. They send Ryan Duffy to Moscow to hang out with a notorious Russian Mobster who makes weird, "b-movie" style TV shows about his past crimes. Thomas Morton visits a Mexican theme park that offers a life-like attraction where people can pretend to illegally cross the Mexican border into America. Finally, Shane hangs with Yemeni teenagers to find out what it's like to date teenage girls that are covered from head-to-toe.

  • Vale Tudo, Ramallah Racing, Fake Afghanistan, Die Antwoord
MMA fighting is one of the fastest growing sports in the world. Go to the slums of Brazil to see where the sport comes from, and meet the toughest fighters in the world. Down there, it's called Vale Tudo which means "Anything goes". Then Thomas heads to the Israeli-occupied territory of the West Bank, where bored Palestinian youth steal Israeli cars, trick them out in chop shops and go racing in the streets of Ramallah. We visit an Afghanistan village - but this one is in California. The US army hired Hollywood set designers to build a fake Afghani village - complete with hired local extras posing as villagers - to help train troops for the rigors of America's longest war. Then it's off to South Africa to hang out with our favorite band and see the white-trash computer rap "Zef" culture behind Die Antwoord.

  • Business Of War; Sakawa Boys; Bulletproof Tailor; Norwegian Black Metal
Sneak into SOFEX, a trade show in the middle of Jordan where arms dealers sell the latest in killing technology to governments around the world. Then, it's off to Ghana to experience Sakawa - a crazy subculture that mixes cybercrime, sex and juju. When Americans recycle their computers, most of them end up in e-waste dumps in Ghana, where unemployed but enterprising youth hack into hard drives and run scams off the info left behind - all the while, being blessed by mystical juju priests. We trek to Colombia and get shot by the Bulletproof Tailor - a fashion designer who makes bulletproof, lightweight, Armani-like suits. Finally, we see inside the scariest music scene in the world, Norwegian Black Metal, where some artists burn down churches and eat each others' brains in.

  • Narco Cinema; Apartheid; Bogota Sewers; Korean Boy Bands
The world of Korean pop music, or K-pop, is examined; a look at Mexican films that celebrate drug dealers as romantic heroes; a visit to a town in South Africa where apartheid is still practiced; exploring the homeless underclass of Bogota, Colombia, who live in the sewers beneath the city.
