Are You Ready For This?
Five young couples from around the country - The Baby Borrowers - arrive in Boise, Idaho to participate in a unique social experiment, which asks them to jump into life as an adult on fast forward by setting up a home, starting a nine-to-five job and becoming parents, first to babies in tonight's season premiere. As the eager couples settle into living together for the first time, each teen "mother" dons a simulated "empathy" belly, to wear at all times until the arrival of their baby - except Dunwoody, Georgia's Kelly. Made self-conscious by her boyfriend Austin's stray comment, their heated argument puts their attendance at a pre-natal class into question. The next morning, five pairs of volunteer parents arrive to entrust their infants to each of the couples - and settle in next door to monitor what happens on closed circuit TV. Soon, as the novelty wears off and crying begins, many of the infants' parents - and even the couples themselves - are surprised to see which of the teens step up to this challenge and who can't handle the pressure.
The First Evaluation
After sleepless nights and busy days feeding, changing and playing with their infants, both Kensington, New Hampshire's Kelsey and Houston's Alicea make unexpected requests to their boyfriends - they want to go to work. The pressure of maintaining a job, house and family is starting to build, but the teens get a surprise from home that make some teens happy and others not so thrilled. As the teens say goodbye to their infants, the parents are anxious to be reunited with their kids and give the teens their first evaluation as parents.
We're Back!
Caring for toddlers is the next challenge for the teens, who must tackle potty training and throw a birthday party. One guy is left to care for twins while his partner works, and another teen calls it quits after a harsh review from the parents.
Where Did They All Come From?
Preteens prove a handful for the pretend parents when one couple hosts a slumber party for all nine kids and the other teens get a surprise that changes their plans for a quiet evening.
The Break Up
After a relaxing brunch out together, the couples return home to find their teens ready and waiting. Always a turbulent couple, Morgan and Daton's relationship trouble come to a head, leaving Morgan to make a tough decision. Each couple quickly learns some of the challenges teens pose, from a difficult family outing to finding their teens out of bed in the middle of the night. After an interesting three days, the couples get their chance to tell the parents how well their kid behaved and not every parent is ready to hear it.
A Journey's End
The couples' whirlwind life tour comes to an end in the first-season finale when they care for the elderly.
The Baby Borrowers: Lessons Learned
Find out what lessons "The Baby Borrowers" teens learned after they went home to their "real" lives, which teen couples are still together and what they are up to now. The parents who lent their babies to this social experiment will also be on-hand to talk about their reasons for participating in the show, as well as how their child is doing today.
