  • JFK --> LAX
It's a few years later and Hank is living in New York but hoping to relocate. His opportunity arrives via an invitation from Charlie to come to L.A. to write a screenplay for a project starring rapper-turned-actor Samurai Apocalypse. Upon his return, Hank reunites with Karen and her new husband and discovers Becca has a boyfriend who bears an uncanny resemblance to her father.

  • The Way Of The Fist
Hank passes on scripting rapper-actor Samurai Apocalypse's film, but the performer won't take no for an answer and drags Hank to a meeting with director Peter Berg, who has a lot more in common with Hank than they both care to admit. Later, Samurai decides to help an unwilling Becca sever ties with Tyler; and little Stuart causes problems at preschool when he flashes a girl classmate.

  • Boys & Girls
Hank finishes a draft of the film script, presents it to Samurai and proceeds to hit the road, but his attempts to leave hit a snag when he's asked to squire Kali around town. Meanwhile, a beat-up Tyler crashes at Karen and Becca's place, and Charlie's son's nanny saves Charlie from a serious parental faux pas.

  • Waiting For The Miracle
Hank gets a surprise visit from ex-girlfriend Carrie, and when Karen and Becca surprise Hank with an invite to a dinner party, he's compelled to invite her. And frank sex talk among Marcy, Stu and Bates at the event has some guests heading for the exits. Meanwhile, Charlie has a blind date with a woman who lacks experience in the sex department.

  • The Ride-Along
To do research for his film role, Sam goes on a ride-along with Santa Monica police and invites Charlie and Hank to tag along, but the night takes a terrifying turn. Later, Richard drinks too much at a crowded restaurant and Hank, Charlie and Sam come to Karen and Becca's rescue.

  • Love Song
Samurai comes down with a case of songwriter's block and seeks Hank's help in getting unblocked. So Hank teams with Kali to compose a tune, which harkens back to his first sojourn to Los Angeles with Karen and other happier times with Charlie and Marcy.

  • Here I Go Again
When a drunken Richard shows up at Hank's with no recollection of the previous night, Hank helps him backtrack and they wind up at the place of a stripper named Holly - who is holding an incriminating piece of evidence that belongs to Richard. Later, Holly turns up at Karen's door and Hank acts as if the intruder is his new girlfriend; and Becca gets upset when Holly shows interest in her boyfriend, Tyler.

  • Raw
Hank does not look forward to having to read Tyler's screenplay. He gets a pleasant surprise when he discovers that it's pretty good - but he's unpleasantly surprised to see that Becca is referenced in the manuscript. Later, there's a skull session with Samurai and Eddie Nero to discuss Nero's next project.

  • At The Movies
On the first day of production for screenwriter Hank's new movie, he's reunited with the director of his previous film in hopes they'll strike cinema gold again. Later, Hank has a friendly encounter with the film's leading lady, which an upset Samurai perceives as cutting in on his action.

  • Perverts & Whores
After his falling-out with Charlie, Hank seeks new representation and signs on with a Hollywood heavy hitter, who immediately sets him up for a meeting with a legendary filmmaker. Meanwhile, Lizzie's big break arrives when producer Stu Beggs hands her a part in "Santa Monica Cop"; and a distraught Charlie seeks comfort with an old friend.

  • The Party
Hank's stay with Karen and Richard comes to an unwelcome end, and once again he is a man without a home. Later, he runs into Lizzie, who lures him back to the Runkle place for a rendezvous with friends and foes alike. What starts out as a ball soon turns into a brawl, with Hank and Tyler squaring off in the main event.

  • Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be
Hank walks into a bar filled with shadowy figures and a bartender who is a long-departed friend. He begins to suspect this isn't California anymore, but one helluva place to kill some time. After he snaps out of it, Hank heads over to Becca's, where he gets some unsettling news. Later, he goes to the movie set, where Charlie proves how much of a friend he is by almost taking a bullet for him, literally.
