Episode 1
Addiction specialist Dr. Drew returns for a fifth season of Celebrity Rehab to once again face the intense task of helping a new group of celebrity patients in their quest for sobriety. As the patients check in, Dr. Drew first lands them at the Pasadena Recovery Center, then meets with them individually to examine the role that their addictions play in their lives. New staff member Jennifer Gimenez from Sober House suffers an intense emotional panic attack when she learns that former patient and nemesis Steven Adler will be checking in.
Episode 2
As the treatment process begins, a new patient, famous Major League Baseball pitcher Dwight "Doc" Gooden enrolls in rehab for a lifelong addiction to cocaine and Ambien. Amy Fisher's traumatic relationship with the media is triggered by the production's cameras, and she lashes out at the crew and nearly quits rehab. Actress Bai Ling refuses to take psychiatric medication that Dr. Drew has prescribed, and she ends up hiding from the staff and climbing on the roof of the Pasadena Recovery Center. Bai's intentions are unclear, but the staff is very concerned that she might hurt herself.
Episode 3
An emotional new patient, Jessica "Sugar" Kiper from seasons 17 and 20 of Survivor, enrolls in treatment for a severe addiction to alcohol and marijuana. Meanwhile the rest of the patients are beginning to sober up and painful emotions that contributed to their addictions in the first place are beginning to surface. Actress Sean Young struggles with guilt and embarrassment over her damaged acting career, and Steven Adler becomes enraged and when Amy Fisher refuses to identify as an addict.
Episode 4
Steven Adler continues his relentless and abusive verbal attack on Amy Fisher for her refusal to identify as an addict, and when he gives Dr. Drew the ultimatum "It's either her or me!", it appears as though Steven may abandon his treatment. Dwight Gooden struggles with painful feelings of guilt over the way he's neglected his children for drugs, and he makes an emotional apology to his oldest son. The patients get a somber visit from a family who has lost a child to addiction.
Episode 5
Bai Ling becomes hysterical during an emotional process group, and later Dr. Drew discovers that she suffered horrible abuse at the hands of Chinese military generals when she was very young. Michael Lohan's ex fiancee Kate Major calls the unit repeatedly while under the influence, and although it's clearly disrupting his treatment, Michael insists that Kate attend Family Weekend and almost abandons his treatment when the staff puts a condition on her attendance. The patients pay an emotional visit to a non-profit organization that provides treatment and hope to addicts who would otherwise be forgotten.
Episode 6
Dr. Drew reunites the patients and their families at Pasadena City Hall to discuss the importance loved ones play in the recovery process. Michael Lohan's ex fiancee Kate Major causes a scene when she shows up detoxing from prescription drugs, and Jessica Kiper's sister Reena confronts Jessica about abandoning her family for drugs. Later, at the Family Dinner, Amy Fisher's husband Lou and Jeremy Jackson nearly come to blows when she takes offense to some rude comments that were made.
Episode 7
The patients are still reeling from an emotional family weekend, and Dr. Drew does his best to help the group learn from the experience. Amy and her husband Lou meet with Dr. Drew to discuss her adult film career, and Michael Lohan has an explosive argument with Kate Major that nearly gives him a heart attack, and almost gets him arrested.
Episode 8
As graduation approaches, Dr. Drew and his staff check in with the patients to discuss their aftercare plans and to help them make their home environments safe. Bob accompanies Jeremy Jackson to his apartment where they discard of tens of thousands of dollars worth of dangerous supplements and steroids. Dr. Drew meets with Sean Young and her husband Robert to discuss how he can support her sobriety, and Jessica Kiper wrestles with Dr. Drew's recommendation that she enroll directly into sober living upon graduation.
Episode 9
The patients have one final process group where they discuss concerns about one another. Celebrity alumni from season four pay a visit to the Pasadena Recovery Center to share words of wisdom and encouragement. At the graduation ceremony, the patients read letters they've written to their addictions aloud and then burn them in a fire in a symbolic and emotional gesture meant to help them say goodbye to the terrible disease that has cost them so much.
Revisited, Part 1
Dr. Drew and his head councilor Bob Forrest look back on Season Five and then visit with Bai Ling, Michael Lohan, Jeremy Jackson, and Amy Fisher to see how they are coping out in the real world, 150 days after discharge. Mary Jo Buttafuoco, the woman Amy shot twenty years ago, reaches out to Amy for closure.
Revisited, Part 2
Dr. Drew and his head councilor Bob Forrest look back on season five and then visit with Sean Young, Dwight Gooden, Jessica Kiper, and Steven Adler to see how they are coping out in the real world, 150 days after discharge. Jessica struggles with a difficult, life changing decision, and Bob Forrest confronts Steven Adler at a concert.
Revisited: Season 1
Dr. Drew and his head councilor Bob Forrest look back on Season 1 and then visit with Seath Binzer, Marey Carey, Jessica Sierra, and Jaimee Foxworth to see how they are coping out in the real world, nearly five years after discharge. Dr. Drew and the patients also say goodbye to the late Jeff Conaway.
Revisited: Season 2
Dr. Drew and his head councilor Bob Forrest look back on Season 2 and then visit with Rodney King, Amber Smith, Nikki Mckibbin, and Andy Dick to see how they are coping out in the real world, nearly four years after discharge.
