Greenhorns
Fifteen hundred fishermen converge on Dutch Harbor, Alaska, for the beginning of the Alaskan King Crab season. They have the potential to earn a year's wages in one week.
Long Sleepless Nights
The fishermen spend the night baiting and setting the crab pots, and those pulling up empty traps scramble for a strategy to make up for a lost catch.
Lady Luck
Forty-two hours into the season, the Alaskan Department of Fish and Game announces an early closure, and each boat has 24 hours to pull up their pots.
Beat The Clock
Less than 12 hours remain in the crab season and the crews rush to fill their holds, but heavy seas and mechanical problems slow them. The boats unload at the processing plant on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Dead Of Winter
The Opilio crab season is about to begin at Dutch Harbor, Alaska, and 171 boats prep for the voyage.
Man Overboard
One of the ships sinks in the Bering Sea and the crew is missing; other boats head out to search for them.
High Hopes
Six lives have been lost 12 hours into the season.
Good Fishing
The third day of fishing gets under way, and unseasonably warm weather and calm seas contribute to record catches for the fleet. However, an electrical fire breaks out in the engine room of one ship.
The Clock Is Ticking
Rumors of a possible closure prompt the men to work even harder; one of the captains abandons the Northern fishing grounds.
The Final Run
The final 24 hours finds many of the boats loaded to the brim with crabs, with one ship attempting to rig extra storage space on deck, as all the crews begin the race back to port and competition for the best spot in line at the processor.
