Welcome to the outrageous world of famous-yet-unappreciated comedian Kathy Griffin as she pulls out all the stops to keep her D-List celebrity status in the public eye. From judging a drag show (where she runs into Marcia Cross, John C. Riley and Rachel Bilson) to performing at a straight-laced Beverly Hills charity benefit, Kathy milks every opportunity to make money, get free publicity and wrangle unwilling celebs into attending her upcoming fundraiser while driving her husband, her assistant, her elderly parents and her two gay best friends crazy.

Hot To Tot
Kathy's annual Toys for Tots fundraiser is right around the corner and she needs to get tons of celebrities to attend so that the press will cover it, thus getting her the publicity she craves. Meanwhile, Kathy's redecorating her new house (with the help of a gay, live-in designer) and she's determined to get everything for free and all in time for her big fundraiser. Will it all come together before the celebs (including Ray Romano, James Denton, Jenny McCarthy, Jamie Lynn DeScala, and Andy Dick) the U.S. Marines and media arrive?

Kathy's first DVD of her stand up act is released so she hits the national promotional circuit to sell, sell, sell. From the Radio Broadcast Awards in Vegas (where she runs into Jordon Knight) to The View (where Mario Cantone and Joy Behar pay a visit to her dressing room) to the John McEnroe Show in NYC to The Tonight Show in LA and every D-List opportunity in between, Kathy knows no bounds when it comes to self promotion - including making her husband sell DVDs from a card table outside her stand up gigs and making her parents pay for their own copies at her DVD signing party in Hollywood.

High Brow
Kathy has scored a huge coup: E! has hired her to do the Grammy's red carpet with Star Jones and she'll do anything to make it a success, from a bit of Botox to putting up with a bitchy stylist who considers her body nothing less than a challenge. Meanwhile, she has to find time to fly back to her hometown of Chicago for a stand up gig and a truly D-List homecoming party at her brother's house (only Cousin Mo and her daughter show up). Kathy's Grammy red carpet gig was a hit, but a scandalous one at that so even though she is happy E! has asked her back for the Oscars, she is less than thrilled to be relegated to the media bridge, far away from all the celebrity action. In between a stressed-out stand up gig in New York and minor scuffles with her picky dress designer over avoiding double boob on Oscar Day, Kathy finds time to sit down with her best gays to write outrageous red carpet jokes and chill out to the Project Runway finale. When the Oscars finally roll around, Kathy looks like a Queen and is ready to rule - until she loses her red carpet credentials and may not be allowed on air!
