D-List EpisodesSeason 2

Back To Pazsaz Entertainment Network's Kathy Griffin: My Life On The D-List Page

  • Going, Going, Gone
Since last season, Kathy's life has been in the crapper. She filed for divorce from Matt - but now they're reconciling. Kathy's beloved dog Captain was hit by a car and killed. And if that wasn't enough - she was fired from her E! red carpet gig, cementing her D-List status. Thankfully her box-of-wine-loving parents stick by her, along with her trusty assistant, Jessica. Out of the gate, Kathy tries to turn things around with a celebrity auction on eBay. She'll raise money for charity and get some much needed publicity. The item? Spend a weekend with Kathy at her house. Only a D-Lister would offer the guest room to a stranger. Kathy hits the talk show circuit and promotes the auction on Jimmy Kimmel and Tyra. It works like a charm - eBay bids are up to $7,000 overnight.

  • Red State, Blue State
She hits the road with stand up gigs throughout the South, and Kathy is worried her Blue State humor won't play in the Red States. Also, an A-List moment turns D-List when the City of Louisville presents her with a Key to the City, but only 10 people show up for the ceremony on the steps of City Hall. She talks up the auction at every stop and it pays off. Bids increase steadily and the auction closes at $28,000. Kathy and Matt are thrilled and hurry to get the house ready. Is the winner an ax murderer or just another gay man crazy for Kathy? Just when life is looking up, Kathy's A-List moment quickly turns D-List when the winning bidder pulls out. It gets worse: none of the bidders next in line want in. This would never happen to Nicole Kidman. The house is all ready for the weekend - but will eBay be able to find anyone to show up?

  • Iraq
Kathy and Matt are buzzing around the house, getting packed for Iraq. First order of business for Kathy: making sure Matt packs enough Ambien and Dramamine for the 20-hour flight. They say goodbye to her parents - mom is in tears and Kathy makes jokes about planning her funeral. They are off, but the limo ride to the airport is a bad sign of things to come. The driver gets pathetically lost picking up the rest of Kathy's comedy troupe - Mike McDonald and Karri Turner. They arrive in Kuwait and do the first show. Kathy can't find her groove and asks an Army Captain if he will command the troops to laugh. But Mike has no problem - he does his Stuart character from Mad TV and the crowd loves him. It's not fair. Kathy has been planning and worrying and tweaking her act and she falls flat, but Mike talks in the falsetto voice of a six year old and kills. After the performances Kathy signs autographs and meets the troops. She talks to everyone who waits in line, some of them up to two hours. The soldiers are grateful that the comedians traveled so far just to make them laugh.

  • Rocket Attack
Kathy's trip to Iraq to entertain the troops is winding down, and just in time. The night of her last performance two rockets hit the base. No one is injured but it's a harsh reminder that this is a war zone. Enemy fire is a buzz kill. Will they even perform tonight? The answer is yes, and Kathy incorporates the rocket attack into her act and this is the best performance of the week. She's a huge hit with the troops and realizes this is her new demographic: Guys who hardly see women at all. Maybe she should book a prison tour. Hmm...

  • Puppy Chaos
Kathy's home life is in chaos as the struggle with her disobedient puppy Pom-Pom continues. Besides wanting a dog that doesn't ruin custom made furniture, there is a new reason to train these dogs, and quick. Kathy's publicist booked Kathy, Chance & Pom-Pom to walk the runway in Paws for Style, a dog & owner fashion show for charity. So, with time running out, her dog trainer suggests a new approach - Kathy should dress up as a rat to scare the dog into obedient submission. This sounds like a D-List scheme and Kathy asks herself, is A-List actor Jake Gyllenhaal dressing up as a rodent to get his dog to behave? She's sure the answer is no.

  • Vegas, Baby!
Kathy and her trusty assistant Jessica head to Vegas for an action packed weekend. But it's a lot of work and very little play. Kathy is booked to host Alka Seltzer's World's Largest Buffet event, which includes a satellite media tour starting at 5:00am - not Kathy's greatest hour. Kathy's Vegas fun continues when she hooks up with A-list fan, Olympic skater Johnny Weir. He's adorable, he's androgynous, and he teaches Kathy to skate. The work of a D-lister is never done - as Kathy heads to Chicago to judge a cooking event sponsored by a random political group. Next she serves as a talent scout on the comedy show, Last Comic Standing. At least she's putting her expertise to work. Back home, Kathy decides to reward her beloved parents with a glamorous spa getaway weekend. But they have other plans. Life on the D-list is never easy.

  • Kathy Griffin: Strong Black Woman
Everyone's favorite D-lister Kathy Griffin is back on stage revealing the hot Hollywood gossip and taking no prisoners in a one-hour comedy special that includes Kathy's jaw-dropping true tales from the red carpet, threats from Dakota Fanning and Steven Spielberg, and a nerve-wracking encounter with Celine Dion.
