Back To Pazsaz Entertainment Network's Kathy Griffin: My Life On The D-List Page
Suddenly Single
Kathy Griffin has had a roller coaster year with professional highs including an Emmy nomination for My Life on the D-list and personal lows with her divorce from Matt Moline. Her tour schedule is busier than ever and her workload has multiplied so she's hired a second assistant, Tiffany Rinehart (or is she Jessica Zajicek's assistant?) and a tour manager, Tom Vize, to help pick up the slack. Even more exciting, Griffin has her biggest A list gig of all time coming up playing Carnegie Hall and she's milking it for all it's worth. She'll be contacting luminous New Yorkers and friends such as Whoopi Goldberg, Joan Rivers, and Rosie O'Donnell for their advice on playing at this legendary venue. She's also hoping to get in touch with Liza Minelli who she loves in a not safe stalkerish sort of way. Will Griffin have what it takes to wow the New York audiences and will she be able to get Miss Liza to give her the gems of wisdom that she so eagerly craves? Or, will Griffin find out that D listers can't cut the mustard at a venue as prestigious as Carnegie Hall?
Dating For Publicity
Kathy Griffin's jumping back into the dating world, but since she married for love like a fool the first time around, this time, she's dating men for their true worth... publicity. If a guy can't get her picture in the National Enquirer, then she's not interested. Griffin will go on her first D list date with Backstreet Boy Nick Carter. But what will Griffin resort to when Carter's crazy publicist tries to media cock block her by waving off all the paparazzi who try to snap their two-shot? Griffin will do whatever it takes to get her photo in the paper with this hot young man. And Griffin will also do whatever it takes to sell tickets on her two-stop Michigan tour where tickets sales hover at 47 percent. Though it's great to have a busy tour schedule, Griffin's also learning that you need to rely on more than the gays to fill those seats. To boost sales, Griffin's got several local D list publicity stunts up her sleeve including hosting a chili cook-off, visiting a local fan, and making her staff walk the streets wearing sandwich boards to promote her gig.
The Show Must Go On
Kathy Griffin is doing comedy on Rosie O'Donnell's lesbian cruise, but as much as Griffin makes her gays laugh, she recognizes that the lesbians do not appreciate her brand of humor as much as the gay men. Determined to crack the lesbians' funny bone, so Griffin picks the brain of power A list lesbian Jackie Warner of Bravo's Work Out fame to understand how to makes the ladies laugh. But just as Griffin prepares to leave for the cruise, she receives the devastating news that her father is in the hospital. Her dad is really sick and may not make it. Griffin must balance her work commitments against her family responsibilities and her extremely strong love for her father.
What I Won't Do For A Buck
Since the death of her father, Kathy Griffin has been thinking about her own legacy. She has always idolized Suzanne Summers and now she has an opportunity to build her own empire in the image of Suzanne's. Griffin has an audition with the Home Shopping Network to hock house wares and hopefully someday develop her own line of moneymaking products. But while Griffin tries to build her legacy professionally, she's also trying to build it personally. Griffin invites her mother to move in with her and she and mom must navigate how to live under the same roof for the first time in 25 years. Then Griffin heads off for a big hometown Chicago performance. Griffin reconnects with her high school boyfriend, who Griffin firmly believes she turned gay and hopes to discover how she became a gay maker and what she can do to turn around her floundering love life.
Prison + Porn = Fun For Everyone
Lately, Kathy Griffin has been thinking a lot about giving back to the community, and who better to give back to then the people who made her who she is today - the gays. So when Griffin is offered the chance to be the host for the Gay Adult Video Awards, she can't turn them down. Besides, it never hurts the resume to have a big awards show on the list - Griffin doesn't mind being the Ellen Degeneres of gay porn. But giving back to the gays isn't enough, so Griffin plans a comedy tour at the Arizona State Penitentiary. In typical Griffin fashion she's not afraid of being killed - she's only worried that her comedy won't kill. Griffin wants to make the prisoners laugh, and she's hoping for a life sentence of funny.
Kathy Goes to London
Kathy Griffin has just received some very exciting news: My Life on the D-List and two of her comedy specials have just been bought by the E! Channel in the UK. Griffin and company are heading across the pond for a week of publicity and fun.
Back To My Irish Roots, Literally
Kathy Griffin has just found out that she is being honored by Irish American Magazine as one of their Top 100 for 2007. Never mind that her mother nominated her for this award, Griffin will take any excuse she can get for a trip to New York. But when Griffin returns home and shows her mother the Irish American award, she starts to feel a hankering for reconnecting with her roots. So, when she's invited by the Irish Tourism Board to visit Dublin she jumps at the chance with team Griffin in tow. While in Ireland, Griffin wants to do a little something in memory of her father.
Kathy Griffin: Everybody Can Suck It
Griffin is back to celebrity bashing. From starlets to LA clubs to the Creative Arts Emmys or Shmemmys - nothing and no one is safe from the politically incorrect comedian. Grab your best gay and get the latest gossip straight from the mouth of everyone's favorite D-lister.
Straight To Hell
The audience gets a hearty helping of her whip-smart, no holds barred take on everything from Senator Larry Craig to the dirty talk in the makeup room at The View. It's an audience she knows well, but Griffin's never afraid to admit when she can't relate. Griffin dishes about her encounter with Martha Stewart while guest hosting on The View. Stewart is her usual straight-laced and organized self, and gives Griffin an excellent idea for jazzing up her staff. Of course, Griffin's act wouldn't be complete without her signature, quick-witted remarks and observations on celebrity culture, this time taking jabs at Paula Abdul, Paris Hilton and Dr. Phil. "He's not even a real shrink. I think he's a botanist!"
