Satisfaction
A month after her firing, Kate makes a triumphant return to Reed & Reed-and this time she's an equal partner in the firm. Though Lauren isn't exactly overjoyed to have her back, she has a bigger problem to worry about: keeping Reed & Reed solvent. Fortunately, a new mediation could offer a solution to Reed & Reed's financial woes. That is, if Kate can keep the mediation-between a cancer-stricken former factory worker and the chemical company that may have knowingly exposed him to harmful chemicals-on track.
Start Me Up
After her first night of homelessness, Kate wakes up on the office couch to learn that there's a new case headed her way, courtesy of Justin. Though smarting from his admission of infidelity, she agrees to take the case and work out an agreement between FBI agents escorting a mysterious VIP patient and the local hospital where the man is to undergo a procedure.
Bait And Switch
When Kate takes on a case involving an injured deckhand suing the captain of the vessel where he worked, she gets a crash course in commercial fishing. And soon learns that this dispute isn't just about fishing-it-s about family. As it turns out, Captain Maiken and the injured deckhand, Owen, are father and son, and there's bad blood between the two stemming from the accidental death of Owen's younger brother Zack. A former addict, Owen has shouldered the blame for that tragedy, but as Kate digs deeper into the Maiken history and the events surrounding Zack's death and Owen's injury, she learns that there's more to the story than meets the eye. But will Kate's discovery of the truth be enough to settle the case, and, more importantly, repair the Maikens' damaged relationship?
Shine A Light
Kate mediates a severance package for an aeronautics company and its exiting employee only to discover a deeper mystery surrounding his termination.
Gimme Shelter
Kate tries to help a bankrupt client who's dealing with a drug-dealer tenant. The case catches Ben's attention when he learns the dealer's lawyer is his rival, Travis.

Justin is accused of police brutality by a man who's represented by Ben. Elsewhere, Lauren faces a possible ethics violation.
