First Things First
The groomers dig into their first "Quick Sniff Challenge" identifying dogs by their breed - blindfolded. After feeling their way through this difficult challenge, the groomers move in to the swanky Dog House, where they will be living together through the course of the competition. Egos clash as Jonathan and Jorge try to establish themselves as top dog. The nexy day, the groomers take their first trip to the Groomer Has It salon, where they meet the judges. Jai introduces the groomers to their first clients: a set of 12 yarn dogs, which the groomers creatively style within two hours to show their skill before they can get their hands on real dogs. After a frenzy of cutting, combing and coloring the groomers present their finished yarn dogs and the judges decide that, although several of the dogs don't make the grade, one is bad enough to warrant sending that groomer packing.
Herd Mentality
The groomers are itching to get to work on some real dogs, but Jai wants to test the groomers' clipper skills in a more unconventional way - by shearing sheep! After being divided into pairs, the groomers race to see which team can create the cleanest cut in the fastest time. Upon returning to the salon, the groomers learn that their grooming challenge this week involves cleaning up the very same Bearded Collies that herded the sheep they sheared. Which groomers can untangle the mats and erase the dirt, and which groomer will be herded right out of the competition?
Ruff Customers
The groomers find that their "Quick Sniff Challenge" this week involves impressing some very demanding clients, including the infamous, very unpredictable Danny Bonaduce. Some groomers put their best face forward and wow their clients, while some crack under the pressure. At the salon, the groomers are faced with even tougher customers - puppies getting their first haircuts. The groomers work extra hard to give the cuddly but feisty puppies the best first grooming imaginable, but in the end, one groomer's work doesn't make the cut, and that groomer leaves the competition in tears.
The Fashion Show
The groomers know a lot about clipping, but aht do they know about couture? Their design skills are put to the ultimate test as they are divided into teams of three to develop concepts and create fashions for the first ever Groomer Has It poodle fashion show. Tempers flare as the groomers butt heads about design choices, and the creative tension carries all the way through the grooming process and right onto the runway. In a twist, the poorest performing team must eliminate one of their own, and the anxiety runs high as one outspoken groomer gets stabbed in the back by their teammates.
Meowza!
This week, the groomers learn to handle the unexpected, starting with an intensive doggie first aid and CPR course. Which groomers are able to act the fastest when their dogs' lives are on the line? At the salon, the grooming challenge find the groomers in an even more surprising situation, as they discover that all their clients this week are bringing in cats. The groomers try every trick in the book to get friendly with their fesity feline customers, but it's at the judging and elimination where the claws really come out.
Chow Time
Jai takes the groomers to a world-class dog treat bakery, where they get the opportunity to create and bake their own delicious doggy treats. Little do the groomers know that they are part of the taste-testing panel! After the groomers chow down, they head to the salon to encounter a different kind of chow - Chow Chows. Even the most experienced groomers get rattled as these tempermental dogs get fesity on the grooming tables, but the Chows' bark is nothing compared to the judges' bite in the elimination room.
On The Cover
The groomers have made it to the half-way point in the competition, but the celebration is short-lived when Jai informs them that they have to find their own dogs to groom at a local dog park.
Knowing Your Dog
In the salon, the groomers have only one hour to groom their dogs. Jai brings in renowned pet psychic Sonya Fitzpatrick, who finds out from the dogs themselves which groomers handled them the best under the extreme time pressure.
Rags To Riches
Jai takes the groomers to a local rescue organization where they must each handpick a rescued dog for the makeover of a lifetime. After an emotional tour through the shelter that brings the groomer to tears, they pick their pups and get down to business.
House Calls
The groomers get tested on their ability to operate a mobile grooming facility as they have to race around an unfamiliar city to keep appointments with some demanding clients. There's just one problem - their grooming trucks are filthy.
Down To Business
The groomers test their entrepreneurial skills as they have to open up their own grooming stands at a local dog park and compete with each other to drum up the most business.
