Let The Bidding Begin
Joe Maddalena and his team of Hollywood-artifact-finders are scrambling to find items for their next auction, which is only ten days away. Luckily, they get a tip about one of the mechanical sharks used in Jaws and a call from a Chicago family about a possible suitcase from Mary Poppins that the family won in a raffle. Well aware that such finds could mean huge dividends for his 25 year-old auction house, Joe goes to investigate.
I'll Get You, My Pretty
Joe Maddalena and his team have only ten days until their next auction. Thankfully, a friend calls claiming to have what might be the suit jacket worn by the lead actor in White Zombie, a 1932 horror film. Meanwhile, Tracy calls around Hollywood looking for 1960's TV stars who might be willing to sell any of their memorabilia on consignment. Over on Sony's movie lot, Joe is able to secure his first consignment item from the company, a 9-foot-long spaceship model that was used in Starship Troopers. Back at the office, Brian calls an Ohio woman who owns the wicked witch hat from The Wizard of Oz to ask if she's ready to sell.
Comic Con Quest
Joe's next auction is 15 days away. The plan? Descend on Comic-Con, the world's largest comic book convention, and troll for merchandise. Also on Joe's radar is a puppet used in the movie Corpse Bride. After Joe and Jon scour the aisles of Comic-Con in San Diego, they hit pay dirt: aging original artwork by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee, which Joe thinks he can sell for a fortune if he can authenticate it. They also meet Erin Gray an actress from Buck Rogers who claims to have a model starship left over from the show. Next up, is a trip to Chicago to meet a huge Bruce Lee collector and see what he has to auction off.
Joe Goes Ape
What is the world's most valuable movie poster? Joe thinks it's the Frankenstein piece owned by a New York collector??? a treasure he thinks he can sell for one million dollars. Jon is setting up a meet with film historian Mark Wannemaker who may have some leads. Tracey has been talking to a flight attendant who has an item from Stargate. Brian has located photographs from the 1933 iconic film, King Kong.
London Calling
Remember that classic car from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang? Joe Maddalena certainly does and when Brian tells him that the actual car from the original movie may be available in England, he's ready to book a flight. While there, Joe also intends to check out a tricycle used in the movie The Omen. Also on tap is a visit to Wested Leather Co., where the proprietor has been making leather costume for film and TV for years and is finally ready to cash in on his craftsmanship.
Joe Gets Animated
With time running out until the next auction, Joe Maddalena is looking for a few good consignments and the yellow brick road from The Wizard of Oz is at the top of his must-find list. Also on the list? A "cool" movie car, and something from the largest animation collection in the world, courtesy of Paul Massey, a terminally ill friend who needs the money for medical care.
Joe's Golden Opportunity
There's nothing like an impromptu trip to England and, since Joe Maddalena is still enamored with his last visit, he wants to do it again. Like, now. With only seven days until the next auction, he'll need to make it fast, but not before a visit to the east coast to drop off an item for John Azarian. While he's out east, Joe also plans to track down the medal that was given to the cowardly lion in The Wizard of Oz.
The Munster Hunt
Joe Maddalena has the innovative idea of creating an appraisal fair, or his version of a "Hollywood Antiques Roadshow." A few short days later, Joe sets up on Hollywood Boulevard to give free appraisals to any and everyone who wants one.
In Full Effects
Joe Maddalena and his treasure hunters have charity on their mind. Variety The Children's Charity, is a Los Angeles-based non-profit dedicated to promoting and protecting the health and well-being of children around the world and Joe wants to do his part to support it with a huge auction. With only seven days left until auction, though, he has very little time to round up some good items.
Spidey Cents
Auction time is drawing near and Joe Maddalena is looking for a few good items to sell. In terms of leads, there's Bill Boyd, a producer and personal collector, Chris Judge of the Stargate SG-1 TV series, Joe Moe, a former caretaker for "Forry" (Forest J. Ackerman) whom many consider to be the godfather of science fiction, and Ed Gogin a collector who lives in Orange County.
Chasing Rudolph
Joe Maddalena is on the hunt for a few special items to make his auction a success. Good thing he's reached out to people who can give him what he needs (hopefully). There's Peter Lutrario, an awning manufacturer who also collects Superman and Batman memorabilia; Eddie McClintock, an actor from Warehouse 13 and Jim Manning, a writer and collector who plans to create his own museum.
Justice For Dorothy
Joe has charity on his mind again. This time he's looking to help Team Fox, Michael J. Fox's nonprofit for Parkinson's disease research. Tracey gets things started by setting up a meeting with Bob Gayle, the creator of Back To The Future. Also on tap is a visit to Michael Shaw, whom Joe hopes will help find the ruby slippers from The Wizard of Oz.
