While Ed is at Mario's evolving green home, Rachelle and Hayden visit the fully redesigned backyard of Bill Nye. Bill has installed raised planting beds made of brick, all new plants and an outdoor dining room on his once barren deck. Ed returns home with a gift for Rachelle: she's been longing for the recycled chair Bradley Whitford gave Ed; now she has one. Ed now hopes he can try his eco hand dryer yet again.
Sharon's Shangri-La
Ed and Rachelle visit the rustic retreat belonging to actress Sharon Lawrence. Today, Sharon is installing soy-based insulation in her walls. Being quite eco-minded herself, Sharon also shows off other green aspects of the property. Meanwhile, green auditor Jason is trying to gather information for Ed and Janet and Billy are a colorful couple who have a water bill problem; or so they think; Jason is already discovering that water might not be their costliest problem. After returning from Sharon's, Ed (armed with Jason's findings) meets with Janet and Billy to have a green advice pow-wow.

We learn that Begley friend Helen Hunt is getting a Green Audit from LWE pals Jason & Jessica. Around this time, we might meet John Joyce and see his rare electric hybrid car. Then Ed and Rachelle go to Helen's to go over the audit info. As we're at Helen's, we intercut with work at the Sharps: the floor is going in and we get an update from Dan and Maya. Completing the audit info with Helen, there's only one thing left to do in this episode see the finished Sharp bedroom. Ed and Rachelle see the room, they are very impressed it's a dramatic makeover, created with mostly all sustainable materials.
Two Busy Begleys
Rachelle is asked to help design an eco-friendly skin spa belonging to her new friend, Renee. Rachelle begins by consulting Janis; Janis is an artist, colorist and longtime friend. As they meet, Janis convinces Rachelle to add some color to the Begley home, much to Ed's chagrin. As Rachelle splits her focus between designing Renee's spa and choosing new paint for her home, Ed advises singer-songwriter Sophie B. Hawkins. Sophie is about to start building an eco-friendly house; it will be a home created in the style of a classic barn. Days after the visit with Sophie, a guest named John Joyce visits the Ed; John drives one of the few plug-in hybrids presently in existence. Meanwhile, Rachelle is getting two things done: painting and designing. She's trying her hand at painting, applying color to the Begley guest bathroom, and she's also finishing Renee's spa. Soon, both the guest bathroom and the spa are looking completed, fully reinvented and absolutely great.

On yet another project, Rachelle installs an artificial lawn at the Begley's.
