NewsRadio premiered on NBC on March 21, 1995. The series is about the employees of a news radio station. The station owner, Jimmy James, is always coming up with unusual ideas that the news manager, Dave Nelson, has to deal with. Add to that a bizarre cast of employees and a lot of unusual situations and you have a strange radio station. Phil Hartman, who played on-air personality Bill McNeal, was tragically killed in real-life and was replaced in season 5 with a new, but similar character played by Jon Lovitz.
