We'll Never Be Friends
At the end of season 3 of The Hills, Spencer surprised Heidi during her business trip in Las Vegas and won her back. But by putting Spencer before work, Heidi found herself in hot water with her boss, Brent Bolthouse. Now she constantly has to prove herself at the office. Meanwhile, the tension revolving around the Lo-Lauren-Audrina living situation has put Lauren right smack in the middle of things. While hard at work at People's Revolution, Lauren tells Whitney that the awkwardness hasn't improved. But she has a plan - she's recruited Lo to help throw Audrina a birthday BBQ. But smoothing things over at home isn't Lauren's only concern, she's got a new man in her sights. Well, sorta new. She ran into a former Laguna Beach fling, Doug, and the two made dinner plans. Lauren's looking forward to dating again. After all, her last official date was with Brody. Clearly, it's time for a new man!
Drama Follows Them
While in class at the Fashion Institute, Stephanie invites Lauren to her birthday bash. When Lauren asks if she can bring someone, Stephanie's eager to learn the details. Lauren dishes that he's a baseball player, and Stephanie reveals that athletes get the thumbs up from her. Before Lauren accepts the invite, she asks whether Heidi and Spencer are planning on making an appearance. Stephanie's not sure; she hasn't talked to them in weeks. In fact, she doesn't even know if she wants the newly reconciled couple there... especially since she's hoping for a drama-free evening.
Better Off As Friends
Kelly Cutrone wastes no time in piling more responsibility on Whitney's plate. At People's Revolution, Whitney tells Lauren that she's scheduled to fly out to New York City. Fighting nerves, Whitney's not quite sure what to expect... or pack. Lauren laughs and suggests her work buddy start setting aside lots of black for her business trip. Ready to stop talking shop, Whitney shifts the convo over to Lauren's love life. She wants an update on Doug, but Lauren sighs and says there aren't any juicy details. Lauren's not super excited about the boy... which is surprising, since she remembers liking him a lot back in the Laguna days. She thought they'd reconnect off of their old chemistry, but the butterflies just aren't there. Lauren feels like she's leading him on, so Whitney suggests her friend calls it quits. Even though Lauren doesn't want to have the awkward break-up convo, Whitney thinks it might be necessary.
Boys Make Girls Cry
Lauren may have just broken up with Doug when we last left The Hills, but a little heartache's never gotten in the way of a good party in Las Vegas! It's Frankie's birthday and Lauren, Stephanie and Lo are headed on a getaway via Doug's private jet, chartered especially for the occasion. Meeting up with Frankie, Doug and Brody at the airport, the girls board the plane and Lo wonders whether Brody's going to make things uncomfortable with Stephanie. The boy's made it known that he doesn't approve of Lauren's friendship with Spencer's sister... and with two on a trip together, things could get a little awkward. Lauren brushes the comment aside, saying that Brody just gave Stephanie a hug. With a quick vote of reassurance from the she-Pratt, the crew is off.
Something Has To Change
In Las Vegas, Frankie's birthday party's proving to be the more drama than fun. After Frankie gave the girls word that both Brody and Doug spent the night in jail, Lauren, Lo and Stephanie have been scouring the phone book, calling all of the local Las Vegas jails. Lauren can't believe that the boys landed in cuffs, but Stephanie explains that it's just what boys do. When they can't locate Doug and Brody through the phone book jail listings, Lauren decides they should start searching for bail bond stores. But, before they can continue playing Nancy Drew, Frankie busts into their suite with Brody and Doug in tow.
You Always Miss A Best Friend
There's finally a chance for friendships to start growing and healing. While at work with Whitney, Lauren gets a text from Holly, Heidi's sister, saying she wants to see her. Although Lauren is reluctant because of her rocky past with Heidi, she agrees to meet Holly for lunch. Holly reminisces about their 'Three Musketeers' friendship with Heidi, and Lauren admits she misses the good times they used to have. At work with Chiara, Audrina gets called into a meeting with Epic's publicist, and is asked to cover a huge event at the Roosevelt Hotel, showcasing The White Tie Affair. Audrina looks nervous, but keeps her cool and insists she can keep everything under control.
When Lauren's Away
For the first time in a long time, everything in The Hills seems to be going well for Lauren. She patched things up with Audrina. She's been able to stay friends with Doug after breaking up with him. And she is starting to feel confident about the fact that she chose Stephanie Pratt to join her inner circle. With everything looking up, Lauren is excited about going on a vacation to Italy. What could possibly go wrong while she's away? After Lauren leaves, Stephanie stops by to talk to Audrina. As soon as she sits down, Stephanie spills a secret - Doug asked her out on a date! With a raised eyebrow, Audrina advises her not to go out with him until she gets Lauren's blessing. Only problem is, Lauren's cell phone doesn't work in Italy so there's no way to reach her. Audrina warns Stephanie to tread lightly, and Stephanie insists that she would never make a play for a friend's ex.
Don't Act Innocent...
Still trying to make sense of the Doug and Stephanie situation, Lauren discusses it with Whitney and her trainer as she takes out her aggression at the gym. Everyone agrees that there's something shady going on and that it isn't cool to make a play for an ex before getting the stamp of approval. Lauren decides to see what Stephanie has to say about the whole thing - she better have a good explanation! At the Fashion Institute, Stephanie approaches Lauren like nothing happened. But Lauren asks about Doug right away. Tripping over her words, Stephanie claims Doug was just using her to get back at Lauren and that she just deletes all the messages he leaves. Despite the claim, Stephanie admits that she is going to Doug's pool party the next day.
If She Never Met Spencer...
While Lauren and Lo make plans to go out to S bar with Holly, Lauren worries that Holly is trying a little too hard to play matchmaker with her and Heidi. But Lo assures her that drinks are harmless, and Lauren decides to go for it. Meanwhile, Audrina excitedly tells Chiara about her upcoming date with Colin that Justin doesn't know about. But she figures as long as she doesn't have a ring on her finger, and Justin's also doing whatever he wants, she doesn't owe him any explanations. Heidi and Holly get together for lunch to discuss their friendships with Lauren. When Holly suggests that Lauren misses her sister, Heidi finds it unfair that she can't talk to Lauren because of something she "had nothing to do with." Holly suggests that Heidi write Lauren another letter to remind her of the good times.
Who To Choose?
Already over her short-lived relationship with Colin, Audrina dishes to Lauren about her upcoming date with Cory, the Australian who Audrina hasn't seen in a while. Audrina tells Lauren that Justin doesn't know about this date yet, but she wants him to be jealous. Lauren points out that Audrina's attracted to Justin because normal guys are no fun for her; hopefully, Cory won't be too normal for Audrina! Spencer asks Stephanie to meet with him at a coffee house, where he vents how much he can't stand having Holly living in his house. Spencer admits he is worried about the letter Heidi wrote to Lauren, because it's the first secret she's ever kept from him. Stephanie reminds Spencer that he can't go to war with his girlfriend's family, but Spencer stays stubborn and insists Holly has to go.
You'll Never Have This...
When Brody flies his friends to Cabo for his birthday, Audrina and Justin Bobby are forced to spend a lot of time together. Audrina knows Justin plans on hooking up with other girls, and she wants nothing to do with him for the weekend. But as soon as Audrina gets to Cabo and sees that she and Justin are supposed to share a room, she realizes spending time apart will be tricky. Luckily, Lauren offers her room as an escape. Heidi and Stephanie get together for shopping and gossip catch-up, and Stephanie tells Heidi she has a new boyfriend, Cameron. When Stephanie mentions that she wasn't invited to Brody's birthday bash in Cabo, Heidi invites her and her new boy toy out on a double date. Stephanie hesitates, a little uneasy at the thought of introducing her new boyfriend to Spencer.
I Want You To Be With Me
While Stephanie and Lauren go fabric shopping for class, the girls discuss the guys' over-the-top behavior with the group of random girls in Cabo. Stephanie dishes about her new boyfriend, Cameron, and when Lauren invites Stephanie to come Crown Bar with the group that night, Stephanie sees it as a perfect opportunity for Cameron to stand up to Brody. But when Lauren tells Brody she's invited Stephanie, Brody can't promise to play nice. At Crown Bar, Brody's presence causes tension as soon as he arrives. Stephanie pushes Cameron to talk to Brody, but Cameron doesn't make a move.
It's Her Move
While getting ready for a Tokyo Police Club concert, Lauren asks Audrina for wardrobe advice. But instead of helping, Audrina sheepishly admits that she found a new place and is going to be moving out over the weekend. Lauren is shocked by the news, especially when Audrina says she hasn't even told Justin yet. Audrina ignores Lauren's hurt expression and gushes over how excited she is that the new place will bring her and Justin closer. As Heidi and Kimberly prepare for a big Bolthouse event, Heidi tells Kimberly she plans on inviting Spencer. But Kimberly warns that the high-stress environment may not be the best place to bring her boyfriend Spencer. Heidi insists that Spencer won't cause any problems, but Kimberly clearly looks concerned.
Back To New York
Whitney and Lauren are summoned by Kelly Cutrone to fly to New York City to help with a line of fashion shows. Whitney seems even more excited when Kelly tells her that Alex will be one of the models. As soon as they arrive in New York, Lauren and Whitney get to work dressing the models. After some slightly awkward introductions and fittings, the boys are free to go. Alex promises Whitney he'll see her later that night, but Whitney seems distracted by other male models in the room. Meanwhile, Heidi is trying to recover from being fired from her dream job because of her 'little' mistake. Unfortunately, Spencer isn't much help. While Heidi insists she has to go out to try and fix things, Spencer tries to convince her to try and have some fun. Finally, Heidi agrees to go out to celebrate her newly found free time.
One Last Chance
Back from New York, Whitney and Lauren get settling into the groove of life in LA. But there have been some changes: Whitney has a new fairytale romance going with Jay, the boy she met in New York. Meanwhile, after getting kicked out of Heidi's apartment, Holly is crashing at Lauren's place. Lauren is glad that she can be a good friend to Holly, but worries that Spencer and Heidi will give Holly trouble for staying at her place. As Audrina and Justin stroll along Venice Beach, they finally agree on one thing: it's nice to escape from Hollywood, if only for the day. Although Audrina is happy with her new, tension-free apartment, she marvels at how pretty and relaxing Venice, CA is. When Justin asks her to come away on a vacation to Mexico with him to make up for the Cabo trip, Audrina can't find a reason to say no.
You Did This
When Chiara detects that Audrina seems a little down in the dumps, Audrina can't help but unload a huge secret: she heard a rumor that Justin and Lauren hooked up. In an attempt to get to the bottom of things, Audrina's tries to confront Lauren and Justin, but she's still not quite sure what to think. Lauren is hurt and angry that Audrina would believe such a rumor for even a minute. She flatly denies it, and refuses to discuss it further. Justin, on the other hand, raises Audrina's suspicions when he doesn't return her phone calls. Lauren vents to Lo about the situation, saying the idea of her hooking up with Justin is absolutely ridiculous. When Lo agrees that the whole situation is laughable, Lauren swears that if Audrina doesn't apologize, their friendship is over.
It's About Trust
Still annoyed with Audrina's accusations about hooking up with Justin, Lauren asks Lo for advice. Lo tells Lauren that if Audrina had to question her so many times, it's clear that Audrina does not trust her. Since Lauren sees trust as a top priority in relationships, she says the only way she will forgive Audrina is if she sincerely apologizes. While at work, Audrina vents to Chiara about her argument with Lauren at Winston's the night before. She tells Chiara she's never had an argument like that with anyone, and it really upset her. Audrina admits that after talking with Justin, she's pretty sure the whole scandal never happened. But she's afraid that she's gotten herself in so deep, things can never go back to the way they were. Spencer stops by Stephanie's apartment and, after criticizing the way Stephanie decorates, Spencer tells her he'll be going to visit their Grandmother the next day. When Stephanie argues that she can't come because she has school, Spencer tries to guilt her into it.
Dream Boy, Dream Job
While working at People's Revolution, Kelly Cutrone calls Whitney into her office for a chat. She tells Whitney that there is a position open doing PR in-house for Diane von Furstenberg, and she's set up an interview for her in New York. Kelly tells her the job would be perfect for her, but there's one catch: she would have to move to New York City. After a little more urging from Kelly, Whitney decides she has to give it a shot. Audrina stops by Lauren's house for the first time after their fight over Justin. She tells Lauren it's slow-going decorating her new house, but when it's done, it will be the perfect bachelorette pad. Lauren tells Audrina her parents are moving out of her old house in Laguna, and she's going home the next day to pack up her stuff. When Lauren admits she's upset since she'll have no reason to visit Laguna, Audrina suggests that it's just a part of growing up.
Mr. And Mrs. Pratt
Heidi and Spencer arrive in Mexico for a weekend getaway, which Spencer's planned as a surprise to take some tension away from their relationship. Spencer hints to Heidi that although the trip itself was a surprise, she still has a surprise waiting for her later that weekend that will make this the most memorable vacation of their lives. As they relax beach-side with a bottle of champagne, they decide to try not to let Heidi's problems with her family effect her relationship with Spencer. While at work at People's Revolution, Whitney gets a call congratulating her on getting the job in New York City with Diane Von Furstenberg. Whitney is ecstatic as she tells Lauren, who looks sad, but is happy for Whitney's success at the same time.
I Heidi Take Thee Spencer
Last week on The Hills, Heidi and Spencer surprised everyone with their impromptu wedding in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. But the honeymoon bliss wears off faster than their margarita-induced headaches and Heidi is left wondering where to turn. Heidi immediately returns to her hectic work life at Bolthouse, and in the midst of organizing the upcoming black-tie SLS Hotel opening, she casually mentions her new Mrs. Pratt status to Brent and Kim. Brent and Kim can only exchange disapproving glances as Heidi prattles about the yummy margaritas and cute church that lured her and Spencer into saying their vows in the midst of their romantic vacation.
