Living with Shelley drives Josh to seek help from Dr. Steve. Ali goes to Palestine with a new friend. Maura learns mind-blowing information about her family's past. Maura and Ali dig up new facts about their family. Shelley gets more daring in improv. Feeling undeniable connections, Sarah, Lila and Len make a plan. Josh can't escape his past. Maura desires to start a new relationship but realizes the bond is tense. Ali is compelled to reunite with her family. In the desert, Shelley is disturbed when Josh uses a gun. In L.A., Davina's time at the Pfefferman home is put to a blunt end. The family visits the Dead Sea, and in her hurry to join, Ali is accosted at an immigration check. Ali stays back in Israel to discover herself while the rest of the family heads home. Sarah, Lila, and Len reassess their situation. Josh addresses his issues. Maura rescues the Pfefferman home from an undesired visitor.
